Pharmacy technician training is widely available, and still it is possible that you never even considered enrolling because you have not seen any advertising for it. It is, however, a great license to earn if you want to make progress and work to support your family. The requirements to become a pharmacy technician can be slightly different from state to state. But regardless of what state you are living in, you need to have a high school diploma or a GED before you can start your training. These programs are perfect to get an introduction to the medical field, but keep in mind that if you are not paying for something like that, you are more than likely also not going to receive a certification of completion. Not every pharmacist is licensed or recognized to provide that practical training and log the hours.
The easiest way to find a pharmacist for your practical training is to go to the government website of your state that regulates professional licensing for professions of the medical field. For many states, there is a separate government website just for pharmaceutical professions. The hours you have to log as proof of practical experience, can also be different from state to state. Also, getting licensed in one state does not mean that you can work as a licensed pharmacy technician in the other 49 states as well.
Online is the best place to find out what the names of the schools are in your neighborhood, adequately preparing for a career as a pharmacy technician. Remember, if you enroll in a school, even if that is not online, you are going to pay for the educational services you agree to receive. Dropping out or at any point deciding to stop it, does not make an end to the requirement to make payments as planned. It only gets you out of actually attending. Enrolling in a school and paying for it is never equal to paying for a license.

Pharmacy technician training is available to you regardless of your age, and is a chosen career change for many who can no longer fulfill the physical challenges of working as a nursing assistant.
